I thought of you today. I remember you helping me with math homework in Ms. Marple's class. You were so kind, right from the beginning.

a happy b-day jurist! you would be pleased to know harper ended up getting a majority, and all is well in canada. It would have been interesting to know your thoughts on hunstman- an empty suit, or qualified? who knows, maybe i could support him in 2016, but not against obama!

Your Second Annual Tennis tournament during A-Day was great! Good turnout, fun tennis, a super tribute! Todd and Ben Sinclair took trophy - how appropriate! Kenny Ng and Rohan tough competitors - Next Year? Gray Rocks participants Alicia and Ryan - took Spirit Award - tho Mac Allen, again gave everyone a run for the money! All who attended and supported were key players and contenders!
Big thanks to UCC, Carly, Mike A, Geoff H, Geordie K, Dave L for a fantasic effort!

Mike -- I always think of the great times we had...the roadtrips, bbqs, Hoya games, pretending to study on Healy lawn. What I wouldn't give to listen to you argue politics with Tom & Joe, and make fun of me & Rose again. Miss you always.

Mike...recently, I watched a video of the Blackhawks resident singer singing "O'Canada" for the last Stanley cup. It's been stuck in my head. I even learned all of the word!!!! You'd be proud. I remember singing the song in the lower level of Leo's freshman year, I'd do the first few lines, and you'd go on...sometimes in French. We miss you terribly buddy....

Hi Mike - we brought Karl Rove for your memorial lecture this week. We took a group photo with him afterwards - still doesn't rival yours with Obama on the New North steps though :) Still turn around sometimes and expect to see you directing ushers, totally in charge of the situation. We miss you.

Surprise Michael - all of a sudden your Wall is working! So I will repost our tribute to all your friends who supported your UCC June 13 Tennis Memorial.
"Michael, sweetheart - Your many wonderful friends from far and near gathered at UCC on June 13th in your honor. It was a beautiful day of great tennis, fond memories and heartwarming friendship - an awesome tribute to you by so many of your peers.
Many other friends, too far away to attend, were with you in spirit.
You and they make us so proud. We miss you, 24/7, always.

A poem for Michael

If you could hear my words. I would tell you thanks

I wish you could know how you have touched my life.

I regret that I can not share my joys with you today.
For it is you…

Tough on the surface, but smoldering with adolescent insecurity; you made my day.
You knew my plight like no one else and maybe you didn’t know it then; but what you tried means so much to me now.

if someday, someone asks of me the same I hope that I can be like Mike.

Never did your efforts go unnoticed… a friend for all times

always in my heart,

- Kinsley J.

Michael,
It amazes me that something like seven years has passed since I last saw you. It's hard to imagine how much has changed since then. Still, before this happened, when I remembered you (which was frequent -- you often came up in conversations -- it seems everyone knows you and loves you), I still remembered you as fifteen. I've learned, however, that in those seven years since I saw you last, you had grown up to be something of an incredible man. Learning about you and your many accomplishments, over the last two weeks, has both inspired me to really embrace life and its opportunities, but has also saddened me a little -- it has saddened me because I didn't get an opportunity to reconnect with such an interesting, thoughtful and caring person. I person that I would have really liked to know.
You will be in my thoughts, Michael -- you will not be forgotten.

It didnt take me long to realize, after the first few days in Nice many years ago, that u were one of the most caring, intelligent, and nicest people I knew and have ever known. I didnt know you that well or for that long and, though I wish I did, I am greatful to have known you and I will not forget you. Rest in peace.

I have been sitting here desperately trying find the right words to describe how kind and generous you were, Mike.. but, such words obviously do not exist. All I can see in my mind is that great big smile of yours that never seemed to fade.
While I wish that we had been closer, I am so honoured to have known you and spent time with you. I am - and will forever be - thinking of you and your family.

Mike- I cannot express what a devastation it is to have lost you. You were one of the most decent human beings I had ever met, and one of the first people I got to know at Georgetown. You are missed, and my thoughts are with your family.

You were a good friend; in retrospect, I really wish I'd kept in touch, I really enjoyed the time I did spend at Georgetown with you. I wish I could say something powerful or poetic, but I'd just end up trivializing this. The highest praise I can offer is that you were there for me in a very rough, tumultuous time in my life. I often wished I'd been more like you, as I know few others as successful and grounded as you. God Bless, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

I've been spending the last few days trying to come up with something to explain how much you meant to me as a friend, but I guess words just can't do it justice.
So Mikey J, you're my best friend forever and we'll see each other again in a new life.
